Ever since that time, the Mutt is developed by many great Akalanka gurus. Starting 7th century principles were formed for guru parampara and is followed to this date. From this we see the rich heritage of this guru peeta at Sonda.

GajaKesari Peeta :

GajaKesari Peeta found in this Mutt deserves respect for its rich heritage and art. The Peeta is very old and is historically important.

GajaKesari Peeta

The name GajaKesari Peeta is given because normally all the Peeta's leg will have a Lion in them but GajaKesari Peeta's leg has a Gaja(Elephant) in them.

In this Peeta's Prabhavali(Main background of Peeta), towards bith the sides, Kesari(Lion) is present. As we have Kesari over Gaja, we have the name as GajaKesari Peeta.

In the center of the Prabhavali, Siddhachakra Yantra is present. Towards both the sides of this Siddhachakra, Kalpavruksha is located.

Under Kalpavruksha, Sumeruparvatha denoting the center of the Earth is located surrounded by Sun and Moon towards both the sides.

Under Sumeruparvatha, we have Pushpa Yantra surrounded both the sides by Chamaradhari.

At the top of the Peeta, Vyali(one type of Lion's face) is located. People who stand in front of this Vyali will get good thoughts in their life.

At the very top of the Peeta, Kalasa is located.

Every art work described adds to the beauty of this red sandalwood Peeta and makes it extraordinary one.
